I received an e-mail last night from Marlene about a great new site called www.freerice.com. You can earn rice to be donated through the UN World Food Program by playing a vocabulary quiz game. The site started on Oct 7th of this year and so far has donated 2,840,667,010 grains of rice. According to the site, 25,000 people die everyday due to hunger related issues. So as we get ready to stuff ourselves silly Thursday, take a few minutes to test your vocabulary skills and feed those in need. There are 50 levels of the game. I got to level 37 – let me know how you do!

Okay I can't stop playing this game - my new level high is 40!
how many grains of rice did you donate by the time you got to level 40? I am up to 990... vocabulary is obviously not my strength but at least this time my inability to define words feeds people as opposed to keeping me out of a graduate program:)
Okay Wendy, I must say thank you for giving me another tool to use in my quest for total housework avoidance! I made it to level 42 and got stuck on "coriaceous". What is it about this game that makes it so addicting? Maybe it is that "Correct!" that pops up on the screen when you get one right. There should be that kind of affirmation for housewives too... Perhaps a star sticker for a stack of nicely folded laundry? I could go for that.
Made it to level 42...and donate more than 2,000 grains of rice. Gotta stop and take out my contacts...
This is addicting!
